Do you want to send a Corporate Gift?

Intro Red box

The concept of a corporate gift is what one company will give to another one as a means of saying thank you for business or as a simple good will gesture during the holidays.

This is a tradition that has been going on for years now; however it is also an area that you have to be carful of. The reason that I say this is because the gifts that are open to you can range in value and quality, so there are a number of aspects that you need to keep in mind before you decide which gift you are going to be sending out.

There are a number of considerations which will decide the type of corporate gift that you send out. You need to keep in mind aspects such as cultural differences, each country and culture that you come across will have their own rules and regulations in regards to gifts that are sent to the company, this may not be something you are aware of but is defiantly something you should find more out about. The reason that I mention this is because, take for example China, if you are sending a company in China a gift you need to ensure it is not wrapped in white as this is a symbol of death. On top of this some companies, especially large ones are particularly sensitive to whether their employees receive gifts that are over a certain amount, the reason for this is they want to avoid anything remotely linked to gaining business in return for gifts.

Once you have found out about any regulations a corporation holds in regards to gifts you can go on to purchase some. When doing this remember, whatever gift you send out is a direct reflection of your company so make sure you go for quality. If you are buying for a high powered executive then your choice of gift may want to go along the lines of a leather portfolio or desk clock. For other members of staff such as lower management then a pen set, desk accessories or coffee gift sets would be the perfect answer.

When you are buying corporate gifts you simply have to buy something small, elegant and simplistic as this will easily get your message across. Whatever gift you do decide to send in regards to your corporate gift there are a few factors to keep in mind, which are spend time on your packaging. If you spend time and money on the packaging for your corporate gift it will reflect on how much you value your relationships with your clients, but that’s not all. On top of this I highly recommend that you send a hand written card. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that it is ok to simply print your message; however you will create a much more lasting impression if your gift is accompanied with a hand written note/card.

Sending a corporate gift is good for your business and the relations that you hold so put some thought into it and you will impress your current clients as well as potentially make new ones.
